DATE: THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25 – BATTERY PARK KICK-OFF RALLY!!! NEW YORK CITY
TIME: 10:00 a.m. to noon
LOCATION: Battery Park, Gangway 1 and 2 (near ferry dock)
CONTACT: Michele Disco at ebnysg@yahoo.com
INFORMATION: Fireboats, bagpipers! Entertainment by Hudson’s Hope and Jamie Gibson Hartley
SITE DETAILS: http://gis.nyc.gov/parks/lc/NYCParkMapIt.do shows a map of the park. The site is not far from the gray dot at the bottom of the map, near the gray building with the restrooms. The Staten Island Ferry terminal is within a short walking distance of the Gangways. The #1 train South Ferry stop is the closest subway, and the R and W South Ferry/Whitehall stop is also quite close. The 4 and 5 stop at Bowling Green isn't far, but it's far if you have EB and are walking. Bowling Green is the only nearby stop with elevators, according to the MTA website. The South Ferry stations require going up or down stairs. PATH trains come to the World Trade Center stop from New Jersey. For more information, see http://www.panynj.gov/CommutingTravel/path/html/map.html. We do not recommend driving in during rush hour, but if you do, there are many garages in the area. If you are continuing on to the DebRA office, and need to return to this area, the N train from 34th St. and Broadway will take you down to South Ferry/Whitehall, or the 4,5 train from 42nd St. Grand Central or 33rd St. & Park Ave South will take you to Bowling Green.
